Motion: Terence Ho on an economy of the future that works for all

Singapore’s workforce and people are key to an inclusive and dynamic economy, said NMP Terence Ho. Speaking in parliament on Wednesday (Aug 5), he said Singapore must continue to prioritise employment and good jobs. Just as Singapore has built up considerable expertise in pedagogy that has placed it at the forefront of global education for children, it needs to similarly build up expertise in lifelong learning and employability, he said. This means bringing in the world's leading experts to bridge the world of academia and industry with timely research that informs practice in a fast-changing landscape. Singapore can be at the cutting edge of learning and employability in the AI age, he added.
