Haresh Singaraju on Health Sciences Authority (Amendment) and Other Matters Bill

10:28 Min

The central idea of the Health Sciences Authority (Amendment) and Other Matters Bill is very simple - both the patient who lodges a complaint and the healthcare worker, who is the subject of the complaint, must receive justice swiftly and fairly, said NMP Haresh Singaraju. Speaking in parliament on Wednesday (Sep 9), he suggested that the separation of the inspection and complaint functions be set out in a published governance protocol, subjected to periodic independent review. He also urged the Ministry of Health to publish timeliness standards on the progress of complaint cases.
