Tan Kiat How on growing capacity for data centres
The government is growing new capacity for data centres in a disciplined and calibrated way and making sure that it adds value to Singapore. It also has to be sustainable and meet the high requirements of efficiency. This could be done through new Bills or upgrading of existing data centres. Senior Minister of State for Digital Development and Information Tan Kiat How said this in reply to an MP’s questions in parliament on Wednesday (Sep 9). The government will continuously engage industry stakeholders and review the need for more capacity to support its evolving priorities, he added.
