Rahayu Mahzam on adequacy of Annual Value threshold for long-term care
The Annual Value criterion for long-term care subsidies was raised from S$13,000 to S$21,000 from January 2024, making zero-income households in all HDB flats eligible for the highest tier of subsidy. Families facing financial difficulties can apply for additional assistance beyond means-tested subsidies and their cases are holistically considered on a case-by-case basis, including scenarios where multiple household members require care. Minister of State for Health Rahayu Mahzam highlighted this in reply to an MP’s questions in parliament on Wednesday (Sep 9).
