Waste per capita falls 21%, groups say donations and repairs on the rise
Singaporeans may be struggling with recycling, but they are generating less waste than they did a decade ago. The National Environment Agency says daily waste generated per person fell by 21% in 2025 compared with 2015. Ground-up groups say more people are embracing alternative ways to deal with unwanted items - by reducing, reusing and repairing.
