05:07 Min

The median gross wage of Singapore citizens and Permanent Residents working as full-time security officers has increased by 19.2 per cent since the implementation of the Progressive Wage Model (PWM) for the sector in 2016, and officers are not worse off in terms of maximum number of overtime hours or paid leave entitlements. Responding to an MP’s questions in parliament on Monday (Mar 10), Senior Minister of State for Manpower Zaqy Mohamad said that it would be unsustainable for security agencies to game the PWM system by incorporating allowances to offset PWM-mandated wage increases, or to increase the number of overtime hours.
