Ukraine invasion: Live updates as Russia continues attack on cities; Biden gets tough on Putin in speech

Ukraine's cities are bracing for more attacks on Wednesday (Mar 2), with Russian forces set to intensify their bombardment of urban areas in a push towards the capital of Kyiv.

On Tuesday, Russia warned residents in Kyiv to flee as it takes aim on targets in the capital. Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said Russia must "first stop bombing people" before peace talks can start.

In his first State of the Union speech, United States President Joe Biden said President Vladimir Putin must "pay a price" for his actions as he announced a ban on Russian flights entering US airspace.
