Julie is the host of ‘Asia First’, CNA's flagship morning news bulletin which offers in-depth coverage of key news and issues shaping Asia, with a focus on politics, policy, economics, and global events impacting the region.
In addition to her work on ‘Asia First’, Julie covers space-related stories, including space exploration, technology, policies, and security. She recently reported on the Global Space Technology Convention and Exhibition (GSTCE) in Singapore, bringing insights from one of the leading events in the space industry.
Julie has a strong background in climate change and sustainability journalism. She has provided extensive coverage of key global events such as COP27 and COP28, Ecosperity Week, and the World Cities Summit. She was also the host of Webby-honored podcast, ‘The Climate Conversations’.
Her expertise in South Korean politics and inter-Korean relations has seen her reporting on significant events on the Korean Peninsula, including the 2017 South Korean Presidential Election.
Julie joined CNA in 2014, bringing with her a distinguished seven-year career at Seoul-based Arirang TV, where she was a news presenter for Prime Time News and served as a correspondent covering the Blue House, Foreign Ministry, and the Unification Ministry.
Julie holds a Bachelor of Arts in Media Arts from the Royal Holloway University of London.
