Zhi Xin has been reporting for CNA since 2021. She works across text, photography and video, producing long-form features and visual stories that bring everyday lives into focus. She also builds on the groundwork of CNA’s documentary teams to extend current affairs reporting to a wider digital audience.

She is particularly interested in stories of migration, displacement and rehabilitation, and in how broader geopolitical forces intersect with people’s lives across Asia and beyond. Her reporting also focuses on ground-up perspectives, examining how communities form, fracture and rebuild under changing political and social conditions.

She was part of the CNA team that received a SOPA Honourable Mention in 2025 for editorial excellence in journalistic innovation for Walk The Line: An interactive journey.

Before joining CNA, she was an editorial assistant with CNBC’s digital news team in 2020.
