Pichayada Promchertchoo is a correspondent and documentary producer for CNA's flagship current affairs programme Insight. Based in Bangkok, she uncovers human stories behind global events and their impact on Asia, from politics to human rights, transnational crime and environmental issues.
She joined CNA in 2012, initially based in Singapore until 2016 before postings in Cambodia and later Thailand. Pichayada continues to travel across the region to produce hard-hitting stories that combine investigative depth with human insight. Her investigations include undercover work into child-sex trafficking in Cambodia, exposés of the illegal baby and organ trades in the Philippines, and coverage of Southeast Asia’s multibillion-dollar scam networks.
Her reports also span national elections across Southeast Asia, and frontline crisis reporting from events such as the downing of Malaysia Airlines flight MH17, the Sulawesi earthquake and tsunami, terror attacks in Bangkok and Jakarta, and the Tham Luang cave rescue in northern Thailand.
Before joining CNA, Pichayada was working with the Associated Press in Bangkok. She holds an MA in Broadcast Journalism from the University of Westminster in London, UK.
