BEIJING, April 1 : BYD was stuck in a sales decline for the seventh straight month, Reuters calculations show, as the Chinese electric vehicle maker struggled with elevated competition in the world's largest auto market.
Vehicle sales dropped 20.5 per cent last month from a year earlier to 300,222 units, easing from a 41.1 per cent decline in February, according to Reuters' calculations based on a Weibo post by BYD executive Li Yunfei and the company's previous filings.
First-quarter vehicle sales were down 30 per cent over the same period last year, the calculations showed.
