CNA938 Rewind - Back to the 1960s with Singapore’s Connie Francis, Singer Veronica Young
In ‘Culture Club’ Melanie Oliveiro speaks with Veronica Young, the now legendary Singaporean singer who was often nicknamed the Connie Francis of Singapore. France-based Young – who is back in town for a one-day concert “Forever Young - Veronica's Birthday Celebration” – will reminisce her beginnings: from a teenaged Pulau Brani kampung girl to singing with popular 1960s bands The Silver Strings and the Cyclones at tea dances. She will also talk about how she healed from a serious car accident, and how every day is a blessing.
