Protests have erupted across multiple cities in Iran – initially sparked by anger over a deepening cost-of-living crisis, soaring inflation, and the collapse of the national currency – with shopkeepers and bazaar merchants in Tehran first taking to the streets. Demonstrations quickly spread to other provinces as students and ordinary citizens joined, turning economic grievances into broader demands for change and economic justice.
