In ‘Destination Anywhere’, Melanie Oliveiro finds out where Singaporeans and Singapore residents can get Chinese New Year-themed plushies – in the shape and form of abalones – at one exclusive place in Ang Mo Kio Hub. FairPrice Group’s Sheryl Chen will describe this first-of-its-kind ‘Abalone Market Plush Experience’, a Jellycat-like interactive concept where shoppers pick their favourite Abalone Darling plushie from a bed of ‘ice’ and then get it sealed on-site into a specially designed abalone can. Chen will describe how each different plushie represents auspicious CNY themes such as longevity and love – with each character hugging a symbolic item like a mandarin orange or gold nugget. She’ll also talk more about FairPrice Xtra’s partnership with Play Nation, a local game-play and entertainment brand, to launch Xtra Play Market - a new store-in-store concept
