In ‘Culture Club’, Melanie Oliveiro finds out what’s new with Gateway Theatre – a local arts centre. Its Executive Director Priscilla Khong will talk about the inaugural Sunshine Festival (31 Oct – 9 Nov 2025), a theatre celebration that champions seniors who are pursuing their dreams in music and performance. Khong will first talk about ‘When You Believe’, a concert by Gateway Entertainment and Hong Kong’s TVBI featuring contestants from the hit reality singing talent competition Midlife, Sing & Shine! As for the production ‘Live It Up’, a musical about retired life, Khong discusses how Gateway worked on it with The Glowers Drama Group, Singapore's pioneer seniors' theatre group.

CNA938 Rewind - ‘SAM Contemporaries: How To Dream Worlds’ – Nurturing Six SG Artists

In ‘Culture Club’, Melanie Oliveiro speaks with sculptor and installation artist Chok Si Xuan about her 2025 work, ‘solid_state’, a kinetic sculpture installation. It is now exhibiting at the Singapore Art Museum’s ‘SAM Contemporaries: How To Dream Worlds’, an exhibition featuring newly commissioned works by six Singaporean artists. Chok will talk more about her kinetic sculptures that she constructed by draping certain materials over electrical components and why they’re designed to mimic human gestures. SAM curator Angelica Ong will discuss Chok’s work and the other artists’ as well.

CNA938 Rewind - Cyann Lee - Creating Lasting Memories with Semi-Permanent Tattoo

In ‘Made in SG’, Melanie Oliveiro speaks with Cyann Lee, founder of HEYCYANN, a Singapore-based semi-permanent tattoo practice. Lee will talk about how she ventured into entrepreneurship once her corporate role disappeared after COVID.  A graphic designer by profession, she’ll describe her tattoo designs - drawn freehand and how she uses jagua ink, a temporary skin-safe body dye. Apart from discussing the tattoo designs her customers prefer, Lee will also talk about how she’s been invited to tattoo studios and creative festivals around the world.
