Thais made up the largest number of foreign nationals abducted by Hamas when the militants attacked Israel on Oct 7, 2023. Nearly two dozen Thais have since been released and returned home.

There have been incidents where migrant workers, not only from Thailand, have been killed by rocket attacks. But those are just very low numbers. The October 7 attack was certainly out of the ordinary.
