SINGAPORE — Six suspected drug offenders were arrested in a series of raids by the Central Narcotics Bureau (CNB) on Tuesday (Aug 11).
In a press statement on Wednesday, CNB said that five men and a woman aged between 25 and 60 were arrested at locations such as Geylang, Jalan Besar as well as a hotel near Beach Road.
Among the six, five are Singaporean and one is Malaysian.
The drugs seized during the operation are estimated to be worth almost S$423,000, CNB said.
Officers found about 608g of methamphetamine (or “ice”), 9g of heroin, 14,970 Erimin-5 tablets, about 2g of ketamine, three ecstasy tablets, and S$7,600 in cash.
CNB said that 608g of methamphetamine is enough to feed the addiction of about 347 abusers for a week.

CNB officers first raided the hideout of a 60-year-old Singaporean man near Geylang Lorong 4 in the late evening on Tuesday.
There, officers arrested the man, along with a 40-year-old Malaysian man and a 49-year-old Singaporean man who were in the same unit.

The 35-year-old man was found with about 7g of methamphetamine, 9g of heroin, 1,000 Erimin-5 tablets and three ecstasy tablets.
CNB officers confiscated S$7,600 in cash from the 25-year-old man. He was later brought back to his hideout at a hotel near Beach Road, where a 27-year-old Singaporean woman was arrested.
