SINGAPORE — Of the 39,286 students who sat for the Primary School Leaving Examination (PSLE) this year, 98.3 per cent qualified for secondary school.

Of the 38,610 students who qualify, 66.2 per cent are eligible for the Express course, 21.7 per cent for the Normal (Academic) course and 10.4 per cent for the Normal (Technical) course, the Ministry of Education (MOE) and the Singapore Examinations and Assessment Board said in a joint press release following the release of the PSLE results today (Nov 25).

For the 676 students who did not qualify for the abovementioned courses, those who attempted the PSLE for the first time may try again in the coming year or apply to Assumption Pathway School (APS) or NorthLight School (NLS).

The other students who have attempted the PSLE more than once will be preferentially offered a place in APS or NLS, the press release said.

Eligible students who wish to submit their secondary school options online have until 3pm on Dec 1 to do so via the Secondary One Internet System.

They can also submit their forms through their primary schools.

The posting results will be released on Dec 22, and students are to report to the secondary schools they are posted to at 8.30am the next day, the MOE said.
