Clothing shops in Jem mall, tech store in Westgate among places visited by Covid-19 cases while infectious

SINGAPORE — The H&M and Uniqlo clothing stores in Jem mall, as well as the QCD Technology store in Westgate mall in Jurong East, have been added to a list of public places that had been visited by Covid-19 cases during their infectious period.

In its evening update on the coronavirus situation in Singapore on Friday (Oct 30), the Ministry of Health (MOH) said that the infectious persons had visited:

• H&M store at Jem mall in Jurong East on Oct 16 between 7.35pm and 8.35pm and Oct 28 between 5.10pm and 6pm

• Uniqlo store at Jem mall in Jurong East on Oct 16 between 8.30pm and 9.45pm

  McDonald’s outlet at Hillion Mall in Bukit Panjang on Oct 17 between 6.35am and 7.40am, Oct 21 between 6.40am and 7.20am

• ICA Building on Oct 17 between 7.55am and 9am

• BLS International – Indian Passport, Visa Application Centre, Singapore at International Plaza on Oct 21 between 9.15am and 10.15am

• Mustafa Centre on Oct 24 between 12pm and 1.35pm

• McDonald’s outlet at City Square Mall on Oct 26 between 2.35pm and 3.20pm

• Jetspeed Travel agency at 3 Coleman Street on Oct 26 between 4.55pm and 7pm

• QCD Technology at Westgate mall in Jurong East on Oct 28 between 6.10pm and 7.15pm

MOH said that it would have already notified individuals who were identified as close contacts of the confirmed cases.

"As a precautionary measure, persons who had been at these locations during the specified timings should monitor their health closely for 14 days from their date of visit," it added.

"They should see a doctor promptly if they develop symptoms of acute respiratory infection (such as cough, sore throat and runny nose), as well as fever and loss of taste or smell, and inform the doctor of their exposure history."

MOH added that individuals may also access the SafeEntry Location Matching Self-Check service via the TraceTogether mobile application, SingPass app, or at https://wereyouthere.safeentry.gov.sg to check whether they were at these locations during the specified timings, based on their own SafeEntry records.

Members of the public also do not need to avoid places where confirmed cases of Covid-19 have been, MOH said.

The National Environment Agency will engage the management of the affected premises to provide guidance on cleaning and disinfection.

On Friday, MOH reported nine new Covid-19 cases in Singapore. Of these, seven are imported while one is a case in the community. The remaining one is a migrant worker staying at a dormitory.
