SINGAPORE — By Nov 9, all Singaporean households should receive a card in their mail, which will entitle them to collect two complimentary SG50 notes folders, the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) announced today (Oct 30).
Singaporeans can then present this card at any Community Centres/Community Clubs (CCs) to collect the folders any day from Nov 11 to Nov 30. The collection time is between 2pm and 9.30pm.
During this period, those who wish to exchange the current folders for new folders can also do so at the CCs.
The MAS also announced today that banks will cease issuing the current notes folders on Nov 2. This is to facilitate the logistical preparations for the issuance of new notes folders starting Nov 16.
Between Nov 2 and Nov 16, members of the public can still continue to exchange for the SG50 commemorative notes. There is a limit of five sets per transaction. Each set comprises a S$50 note and five S$10 notes
Only Singaporeans will be allowed to obtain the commemorative SG50 folders at the banks, subject to a maximum of two folders per transaction. The SG50 commemorative notes and folders will be available at the banks while stocks last.
In fairness to others, MAS has appealed for the public to refrain from queuing repeatedly to obtain more than the stipulated two folders.
