Covid-19: 14 new cases in S’pore — highest single-day spike; 9 imported
Nine of the 14 new cases in Singapore announced on March 15, 2020, are imported from overseas.
SINGAPORE — The Ministry of Health (MOH) has confirmed 14 new cases of Covid-19 in Singapore, including a teaching staff member at MY World Preschool, bringing the country's total to 226.
Two of the new cases are from the Safra Jurong private dinner cluster while nine are imported from overseas. The remaining three are linked to previous cases.
To date, a total of 105 patients have fully recovered from the coronavirus infection and have been discharged, the ministry said in a statement on Sunday (March 15).
Of the 121 patients who are still in hospital, most are stable or improving, while 13 are in critical condition in the intensive care unit.

Case 213
A 48-year-old Singaporean who was in Indonesia from March 4 to 13. He is an imported case and is warded in an isolation room at Sengkang General Hospital.
He reported onset of symptoms on March 8 while in Indonesia and went to the emergency department of the hospital on March 13. Test results confirmed he has Covid-19 on March 14 afternoon.
He lives on Serangoon North Avenue 3.
Case 214
A 29-year-old Singaporean man who did not travel recently to affected countries and regions.
He is warded in an isolation room at the National Centre for Infectious Diseases (NCID) and is linked to Case 208, a 26-year-old Singaporean woman who is a medical social worker at the Singapore General Hospital (SGH).
He reported onset of symptoms on March 5 and sought treatment at a general practitioner (GP) clinic on March 6 and 8. He went to NCID on March 14, and tested positive for Covid-19 that afternoon.
Before he was warded, he had visited non-profit social service centres Youth Go! (403 Fajar Road in Bukit Panjang) and Project 180@Simei (145 Simei Street 2) as well as the Singapore University of Social Sciences (463 Clementi Road). He lives on Jurong West Street 71.
Case 215
A 65-year-old Singaporean who had been in Thailand from March 7 to 10 and is an imported case. He is warded in an isolation room at SGH.
He reported onset of symptoms on March 13 and sought treatment at a GP clinic on the same day. He went to the emergency department of SGH that day and on March 14 afternoon, was confirmed to have Covid-19.
Before he was hospitalised, he had gone to work at pawnbroker Cash Box (1 Jurong West Central 2). He lives on Mei Ling Street in Queenstown.
Case 216
A 30-year-old Singaporean who is an imported case. He had been in Germany from Feb 28 to March 1, and again on March 5 to 6, and Czech Republic from March 1 to 5. He is warded in an isolation room at NCID.
He reported onset of symptoms on March 9 and sought treatment at a GP clinic on March 10 and 12. He was referred to NCID on March 12 and tested positive on March 14 afternoon.
Before that, he had gone to work at software firm SAP Asia, located in Mapletree Business City along Pasir Panjang Road. He lives on Bukit Batok West Avenue 6.
Case 217
A 22-year-old Spanish who is a Singapore long-term pass holder and an imported case. He had been in Spain from March 9 to 13. He is warded in an isolation room at NCID.
He reported onset of symptoms on March 13 and was referred to NCID on the same day. He was confirmed to be infected on March 14 afternoon.
He lives in the Mount Sophia area.
Case 218
A 55-year-old Singaporean woman with no recent travel history to affected countries and regions. She is linked to the cluster at Safra Jurong where there was a private dinner event on Feb 15.
She reported onset of symptoms on March 2, and sought treatment at two GP clinics on March 2, 3, 4, 6 and 8. She went to the National University Hospital on March 9. She tested positive on March 14 afternoon and is warded in an isolation room there.
Before hospital admission, she mostly stayed at home on Pending Road in Bukit Panjang except to seek medical treatment.
Case 219
A 30-year-old Singaporean with no recent travel history to affected countries and regions. He was confirmed to have Covid-19 infection on March 15 morning, and is warded in an isolation room at Sengkang General Hospital.
He is linked to Case 211, a 35-year-old Filipina who is a Singapore long-term visit pass holder. Both of them are linked to Case 142, a 26-year-old Singaporean man who went to a rock-climbing gym at Asperia Mall in Kallang and who has links to the Safra Jurong cluster.
Case 220
A 53-year-old Singapore permanent resident who is an imported case as he had been in France from March 10 to 12. He was confirmed to have Covid-19 on March 15 morning, and is warded in an isolation room in NCID.
Case 221
A 28-year-old Filipina and Singapore work pass holder who did not travel recently to affected countries and regions. She tested positive on March 15 morning and is warded in an isolation room at NCID.
She is a contact of Case 204, a 32-year-old American man who is a Singapore work pass holder and is an imported case. She is employed as a teaching staff member at MY World Preschool located at 52 Lengkok Bahru near Redhill.
Case 222
A 41-year-old Frenchman who is a Singapore work pass holder. He is an imported case, having been to France from Feb 28 to March 7 and from March 9 to 10. He was also in Spain from March 7 to 9, and the Philippines from March 12 to 13. He tested positive on March 15 morning, and is warded in an isolation room at NCID.
Case 223
A 60-year-old Singaporean man who is an imported case, having been in the United States from Feb 28 to March 7 and Australia from March 7 to 13. He was confirmed to have Covid-19 on March 15 morning, and is warded in an isolation room at NCID.
Case 224
A 50-year-old Singaporean man who had been in Malaysia from March 1 to 4. He is a contact of Case 117, a 52-year-old Singaporean woman, and both have links to the Safra Jurong cluster.
He was confirmed to have Covid-19 infection on March 15 morning, and is warded in an isolation room at NCID.
Case 225
A 63-year-old Singaporean who is an imported case. He had been in Indonesia from March 3 to 7. He tested positive on March 15 morning and is warded in an isolation room at NCID.

Case 205
A 30-year-old Filipina who is a Singapore long-term visit pass holder. She had been in the Philippines from Feb 27 to March and is an imported case.
She reported onset of symptoms on March 8 and sought treatment at a GP clinic on March 11. She went to NCID on March 14 and test results came back positive that morning. She is warded in an isolation room there.
Before she was admitted, she had gone to work at DNATA Cargo (45 Airport Cargo Road). She lives on Flora Drive in Loyang.
Case 206
A 33-year-old female New Zealander who is a Singapore long-term visit pass holder. She had travelled to the United States from Feb 28 to March 13 and is an imported case.
She reported onset of symptoms on March 12. She sought treatment at a GP clinic on March 13 and was referred to NCID the same day. Test results confirmed she has Covid-19 on March 14 morning. She is warded in an isolation room there.
Prior to hospital admission, she mostly stayed home on Upper Paya Lebar Road.
Case 207
A 40-year-old Singaporean woman who is an imported case and who had been in the United Kingdom from March 6 to 11.
She reported onset of symptoms on March 10 while in the UK. She sought treatment here at a GP clinic on March 13 and was referred to NCID on the same day. She tested positive on March 14 morning and is warded in an isolation room there.
Before she was wared, she mostly stayed home in the Yishun Central area.
Case 208
A 26-year-old Singaporean woman with no recent travel history to affected countries and regions.
She reported onset of symptoms on March 3 and sought treatment at the staff clinic of SGH on March 4 and 13. She was confirmed to have Covid-19 on March 14 morning and is warded in an isolation room at NCID.
Before she was warded, she had gone to work as a medical social worker at SGH. She lives along Tiong Bahru Road.
Case 209
A 32-year-old Singaporean woman who had been in the US from March 2 to 7 and is an imported case..
She reported onset of symptoms on March 11 and sought treatment at the staff clinic of SGH on March 13. She was tested positive on March 14 and is warded in an isolation room at SGH.
Before she was hospitalised, she had gone to work as a psychologist at SGH. She lives on Serangoon Avenue 3.
Case 210
A 56-year-old German man who is a Singapore long-term visit pass holder and an imported case. He was in Germany from Feb 27 to March 3 and again from March 11 to 12, and in Switzerland in between.
He reported onset of symptoms on March 13, sought treatment at a GP clinic and was referred to NCID on the same day. He tested positive on March 14 morning and is warded in an isolation room at NCID.
He lives on Leedon Park near Farrer Road.
Case 211
A 35-year-old Filipina who is a Singapore long-term visit pass holder.
She is linked to to Case 142, a 26-year-old Singaporean man who went to a rock-climbing gym at Asperia Mall in Kallang and who has links to the Safra Jurong cluster.
As she had been identified as a contact of Case 142, she was placed under quarantine on March 9. She was referred to NCID on March 13, and test results came back positive for Covid-19 on March 14 morning. She is warded in an isolation room there.
She lives on Crawford Lane off North Bridge Road.
Case 212
A 64-year-old Indonesian man who is an imported case and who arrived in Singapore from Indonesia on March 13.
He reported onset of symptoms on March 9 and had been hospitalised in Indonesia for pneumonia. Upon arrival in Singapore on March 13, he sought treatment at Mount Elizabeth Hospital and was referred to NCID the same day. He tested positive for Covid-19 on March 14 and is warded in an isolation room at NCID.
Before hospital admission, he stayed at Ibis Hotel Novena (6 Irrawaddy Road).
MOH said that it has identified 5,472 close contacts who have been quarantined as of March 15, 12pm. Of these, 1,817 are still quarantined, while 3,655 have completed their quarantine.
