SINGAPORE — DBS and POSB customers who want to deposit the money from their Chinese New Year red packets can do so at five POSB pop-up ATMs from tomorrow (Feb 11).
The ATMS, which are located at five community clubs in Chong Pang, Henderson, Teck Ghee, Toa Payoh West and Yew Tee, will accept cash until Feb 22.
The machines at Henderson and Yew Tee will be operational round-the-clock, while the rest will be operational from 9am to 10pm. The machines will accept denominations of S$2, S$5, S$10, S$50, S$100 and S$1,000.
DBS said in a press release today it wanted to allow its customers to “make convenient cash deposits following the first few days of the Lunar New Year”.
Other than these converted ATMs, DBS/POSB customers can also make deposits at more than 270 cash acceptance machines (CAMs) and SingPost branches across Singapore.
Mr Jeremy Soo, managing director and head of consumer banking group (Singapore), DBS Bank, said: “Now that the rush for new notes has passed, we see an opportunity to pilot the conversion of some of the pop-up ATMs into pop-up CAMs. Based on our understanding of customer usage patterns, parents and younger customers will now be depositing cash from their red packets.”
On Jan 20, POSB introduced pop-up ATMs at 12 community clubs in Bedok, Chong Pang, Ci Yuan, Clementi, Henderson, Jurong Spring, Marine Parade, Tampines Changkat, Teck Ghee, Toa Payoh West, Woodlands and Yew Tee.
