SINGAPORE — Flood warnings were issued for several areas across Singapore on Monday (March 7) afternoon following a heavy downpour, with flash floods reported in at least two locations.

In a message on its flood alert channel on Telegram at around 4.10pm, national water agency PUB advised motorists to avoid Enterprise Road in Jurong as it was “not passable” to traffic.

“PUB officers have been deployed to render assistance,” it added.

PUB’s Quick Response Teams were deployed to render assistance to motorists and direct traffic while closing off the roads were flash floods occurred.

Earlier at around 3.20pm, the agency warned of a flash flood at Jurong East Street 32.

PUB said in a statement that both floods were due to "intense rain", and that both subsided within 30 minutes.

"This corresponds to 88 per cent of Singapore’s average monthly rainfall in March and lies within the top 1 per cent of maximum daily rainfall records since 1981," PUB said.
