SINGAPORE – A 31-year-old man has been arrested for the suspected murder of his friend, following an incident involving a prime mover along Jurong Town Hall Road on Thursday (Feb 15).
In a media release on Friday (Feb 16), the police said they were alerted to an accident along Jurong Town Hall Road towards Ayer Rajah Expressway at 5.47pm on Thursday, where three men were taken to the National University Hospital.
The 43-year-old driver, who had face and chest injuries, died in hospital around two hours later.
TODAY understands that the three men – all Singaporeans – were friends and were travelling together in the prime mover, when the deceased and the suspect had a dispute in the vehicle.
It is believed the 31-year-old suspect had attacked the deceased during the journey, causing the latter to lose control of the vehicle and drive off the road.
No other vehicle or property was damaged by the prime mover.
The suspect will be charged in court on Saturday (Feb 17) for murder, which carries the death penalty.
