SINGAPORE: A man has been brought back to court to face a murder charge more than 10 years after the alleged victim died at a disco in Geylang.

Singaporean Lee Heng Wong, 53, returned to court on Thursday (Feb 23) to face one count of murder by causing the death of 23-year-old Xi Wei Feng.

This allegedly occurred between 2am and 6.29am on Feb 14, 2010 at De Basement Live Disco at 149 Geylang Road.

According to court records, Lee was first charged in October 2022.

In response to CNA's queries, the police said on Friday that the accused was arrested in Malaysia with the assistance of the Royal Malaysia Police and handed over to the Singapore Police Force on Oct 13, 2022.

No other details about the alleged crime were revealed in open court.

He is represented by lawyers Cory Wong, Josephus Tan and Silas Siew of Invictus Law.

If convicted of murder, Lee can be sentenced to death.
