No Covid-19 cases found from mass testing at Block 506 Hougang Ave 8 and neighbouring blocks

SINGAPORE — No cases of Covid-19 have been found after mass testing of residents and visitors at Block 506, Hougang Avenue 8, as well as in neighbouring blocks thus far, the Ministry of Health (MOH) said on Sunday (June 6).

The testing operations involve:

  • 1,413 residents of Block 506 and staff working in shops in neighbouring blocks (511 Hougang Avenue 10; 681, 683 and 684 Hougang Avenue 8; 682 Hougang Avenue 4; 685 and 698 Hougang Street 61). Of these, 1,396 individuals have tested negative and 17 more test results are pending

  • 3,212 visitors of block 506 Hougang Avenue 8, and residents and visitors of neighbouring blocks (511 Hougang Avenue 10; 681, 683 and 684 Hougang Avenue 8; 682 Hougang Avenue 4; 685 and 698 Hougang Street 61). Of these, 2,330 individuals have tested negative and 882 more test results are pending

They had to undergo mandatory Covid-19 tests after new cases were found in the block and neighbouring ones since an earlier round of testing was conducted at the block on May 21 and 22.

Originally scheduled for Friday and Saturday, the testing operations were extended to Sunday due to high response, MOH said.
