SINGAPORE – Punggol Point Light Rapid Transit (LRT) station will open for service next Thursday (Dec 29), helping to make Coney Island, and the food and recreation cluster close to it, a tad more accessible for visitors.

Train services and operating hours will not be affected by the opening of the station on the west loop of the Punggol LRT system, SBS Transit said in a statement on Monday (Dec 19).

The two remaining LRT stations for the Punggol west loop, Teck Lee and Samudera stations, will be “opened when their surrounding areas are developed”, SBS Transit added.

The Punggol Point station is a 20-minute walk away from Punggol Settlement, where people visit for a wide selection of restaurants, or drop by the Jomando Adventure & Recreations to rent a bike.

The current travelling time from Punggol LRT to the area by bus is about 30 minutes.
