Sembawang Shopping Centre, shop in Joo Chiat Complex among places visited by Covid-19 cases while infectious

SINGAPORE — The Ministry of Health (MOH) on Wednesday (April 28) added more locations — among them Joo Chiat Complex in Geylang as well as Sembawang Shopping Centre — to a list of public places that had been visited by Covid-19 cases during their infectious period.

In its evening update on the coronavirus situation in Singapore, the Ministry of Health (MOH) said that the infectious persons had visited:

• Petempatan Melayu Sembawang Mosque at 27P Jalan Mempurong on April 23 between 1.55pm and 2.25pm

• J&K Design in Joo Chiat Complex on April 23 between 5.45pm and 6.15pm

  Mak’s Place – The Hawkerant at 401 Changi Road on April 23 between 6.30pm and 8pm

• Seoul Garden in Bedok Mall on April 24 between 6.35pm and 8.30pm

• Sembawang Shopping Centre at 604 Sembawang Road on April 25 between 3.20pm and 3.50pm

• NTUC FairPrice supermarket at 500 Lorong 6 Toa Payoh on April 27 between 8.55am and 9.30am

MOH said that it would have already notified individuals who were identified as close contacts of the confirmed cases.

"As a precautionary measure, persons who had been at these locations during the specified timings should monitor their health closely for 14 days from their date of visit," it added.

"They should see a doctor promptly if they develop symptoms of acute respiratory infection (such as cough, sore throat and runny nose), as well as fever and loss of taste or smell, and inform the doctor of their exposure history."

MOH added that individuals may also access the SafeEntry Location Matching Self-Check service via the TraceTogether mobile application, SingPass Mobile, or at https://wereyouthere.safeentry.gov.sg to check whether they were at these locations during the specified timings, based on their own SafeEntry records.

Members of the public also do not need to avoid places where confirmed cases of Covid-19 have been, MOH said.

The National Environment Agency will engage the management of the affected premises to provide guidance on cleaning and disinfection.

On Wednesday, MOH reported 23 new cases of Covid-19 in Singapore, including three in the community. The remaining 20 are imported infections.
