SINGAPORE — Three men who allegedly stabbed at least two Singaporeans during an altercation at a bar in Ho Chi Minh City last month were arrested on Wednesday (March 9), according to Vietnamese media reports.
DTI News identified the suspects as Duong Cong Trang, 29, Duong Minh Luan, 19, and Nguyen Hoang Duy 19.
The incident occurred on Feb 27. According to reports, the Singaporeans — two were identified as Mr Tan Chee Boon and Mr Shi Zhi Xiang — were at the DC Club in the city’s Cong Qunyh District when Mr Tan collided with Trang.
When he did not immediately apologise, Trang and the two other men approached Mr Tan’s table and Trang stabbed Mr Tan with a dagger. The other two suspects joined the fight, throwing bottles and glasses.
Reports do not state where Mr Tan was stabbed but Mr Shi who reportedly tried to intervene was stabbed in the head. A third Singaporean was reportedly also injured.
A security guard stopped the attack and sent the Singaporeans to hospital, while the culprits fled.
Thanh Nien News reported that the police tracked down the suspects using security footage, and are looking for more people involved in the attack. The Singaporeans left for Singapore on March 2, said the news outlet.
