PM Lee to speak at the Ho Rih Hwa Leadership Asia Pacific Lecture series
Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong will deliver a speech on Singapore: The past, the present, and the future at the Ho Rih Hwa Leadership in Asia Pacific Public Lecture series this evening. He will also take questions in a one-hour dialogue at the event held at the Suntec Convention Centre.

Jurong hospital opens
The Ng Teng Fong General Hospital opens its doors to patients at 8.30am today. About 3,000 staff from JurongHealth who had been running Alexandra Hospital until it closed for renovations yesterday will be in charge of the new hospital and the adjoining Jurong Community Hospital.
Death toll from Taiwan water park fire set to rise
The death toll of burn victims from a weekend fire at a water park in Taiwan is set to rise today, after the first fatality of a 20-year-old woman yesterday. More than 500 had sustained burn injuries after coloured powder sprayed onto partygoers ignited, calling into question the safety of similar events in future. The Color Run, to be held in Singapore on August 22 and 23, told TODAY that the powder used in its events has been tested for flammability and successfully passed the required standards.
Greece on edge
Greece’s euro area-backed bailout expires today, putting the country on the cusp of default unless it can reach a new deal with creditors. Payments totaling some 1.6 billion euros to the International Monetary Fund are also due today. With Greek banks declared shut through July 6, analysts have said such a move could potentially put the country on a path to exiting the single currency union.
