Woman arrested for alleged murder of 95-year-old woman in Serangoon

SINGAPORE — A 34-year-old woman has been arrested for the alleged murder of a 95-year-old woman on Monday (July 6) in Serangoon.

In a news release, the police said that they were alerted to a stabbing case in a residential unit along Recreation Road near Serangoon MRT at about 1.50pm on Monday.

“Upon arrival, a 95-year-old woman was found lying motionless at the said location and was pronounced dead at scene by a paramedic,” the police said.

They added that the police have classified the case as murder.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the victim and the suspect were known to each other, police said.

The suspect will be charged in court on Wednesday.
