StarHub extends Premier League package promo offer for second time until Jun 30

SINGAPORE: StarHub announced on Monday (Jun 20) that it will extend for a second time the early bird rates for its new Premier League broadcast package to all subscribers until the end of the month.
This comes after the telco said it saw “enthusiastic reception” to the announcement of its Premier+ over-the-top service, starting at S$19.99 per month.
“StarHub is extending early bird offers for Premier+ to all till Jun 30, 2022,” it said in a media statement.
“This extension also gives customers ample time to conclude their pay TV service agreements with the existing provider, while avoiding early termination charges.”
Football fans can sign up for Premier+ on StarHub's website or at any of the telco's shops.
In its initial announcement on Jun 8, StarHub said that early bird prices would be available to the first 25,000 subscribers who signed up between Jun 9 and Jun 30.
However, the launch of Premier+ the next day was met with long online queues, with some customers saying that they were unable to get through the payment process after being in line for a long period of time.
In response to CNA's queries at the time, StarHub said that promotional prices would be available to all customers until Jun 19 following what it called an “overwhelming response” to the launch.
The S$19.99 monthly price is available together with a StarHub mobile postpaid, broadband or TV plan. This applies to both new and existing StarHub customers.
The usual price for this package is S$24.99 per month.
Subscribing to just the Premier+ package without any accompanying StarHub plan will cost S$34.99 a month during the promotion period, with the regular price set at S$39.99.
StarHub holds the Singapore broadcast rights for one of the sport's most popular properties. It has the rights for the next six years, starting from the 2022-23 season which begins in August.
Rival telco Singtel had previously held Singapore broadcast rights for the Premier League for 12 consecutive years.
