One of Singapore's most stylish new hotels is now open
The first Six Senses property in Singapore is a beauty.
When you talk about luxury boutique resorts and incredible holiday experiences that you wax lyrical about long after the vacation has ended, you can't not mention the Six Senses Group in the same breath.
The eco-minded boutique hotel group has long had a stellar reputation amongst discerning travelers thanks to its unerring ability to create luxurious resorts in stunning, remote locations, all whilst staying steadfastly true to its eco-conscious ethos. Each of its property - ranging from the cliff-hugging sky villas in Uluwatu, Bali, to the restored 19th-century manor house overlooking the vine-covered hills of Duoro Valley in Portugal - is the physical embodiment of 'barefoot luxury'.
And so it's with a bit of a surprise, that Singapore will welcome the opening of its first-ever urban Six Senses hotel (the first of two Singapore-based Six Senses properties; the other one located at Maxwell will open later in the year), located at Duxton Road this Sunday. But while the Chinatown neighbourhood could hardly call to mind a luxury resort escape, CEO Neil Jacobs says that it's all part of the group's plan to move into "selected gateway cities that attract both business and leisure travelers" - such as New York City, Miami and Toronto.
For now though, it's Singapore who has first bragging rights to a beautiful new Six Senses hotel right smack in the centre of a concrete jungle. Ahead of Six Senses Duxton's opening this Sunday, scroll on down for a sneak preview of its seriously impressive get-up.
