Almost 50 Bali flights cancelled as Mount Lewotobi-Laki Laki spews volcanic ash
Several international airlines have cancelled flights into and out of Indonesia's resort island of Bali. This comes amid safety concerns after nearby Mount Lewotobi-Laki Laki sent ash clouds as high as nine kilometres into the sky yesterday. Located around 1,000km away from Bali, the volcano on Flores Island has been erupting since 3 Nov. Airlines from Australia, Hong Kong, India, Malaysia, and Singapore have suspended some of their flights until tomorrow. Almost 50 flights have been disrupted in the past three days, leaving travellers stranded on the island. Saifulbahri Ismail reports from Jakarta.Â
