Alvin Tan on moving birds and flora from Jurong Bird Park to Bird Paradise in Mandai

More than 3,000 birds and about 50 species of flora will be moved from Jurong Bird Park to Bird Paradise in Mandai after the bird park closes on Jan 3 next year. The relocation involves detailed planning and measures to ensure the welfare, health and safety of the birds. The site at Jurong is expected to be handed over to JTC in 2025. JTC is working with Mandai Wildlife Group and the relevant agencies on this. Minister of State for Trade and Industry Alvin Tan gave this update in reply to an MP's question in Parliament on Wednesday (Nov 30).
