04:50 Min

According to the Cyber Security Agency of Singapore, hackers compromised over 117,000 systems in Singapore last year — a 67% jump from 2023. In its annual Cyber Landscape Report, the CSA attributed the surge to infected devices ranging from servers to smart cameras. In Q4 2024, Singapore was the seventh most-targeted country globally for DDoS attacks. The CSA also observed an increase in Advanced Persistent Threat (APT) activity worldwide. These are often state-backed hacker groups that infiltrate systems for long periods of time to steal data or disrupt systems. Cybersecurity firms said they are seeing an uptick in interest from clients to fend off such groups. Nicolas Ng reports.
