The US is hoping to shore up a fragile ceasefire in Gaza that came into force close to two weeks ago. Vice President JD Vance is in Israel, where he is scheduled to meet top US and Middle East envoys and military experts monitoring the truce. He is also expected to hold talks with Israeli leaders, including Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu tomorrow. Mr Netanyahu met with Egypt's intelligence chief in Jerusalem, where they discussed advancing US President Donald Trump's Gaza peace plan. Blake Sifton reports from Tel Aviv.
