Australia expels Iranian ambassador over antisemitic attacks

02:29 Min

Diplomatic relations between Australia and Iran severed, after Prime Minister Anthony Albanese accused Tehran of orchestrating at least two antisemitic attacks — one at a kosher restaurant in Sydney and another at a synagogue in Melbourne. Iran's ambassador to Australia Ahmad Sadeghi has been given seven days to leave the country. This is Canberra's first expulsion since World War II. Tehran has rejected the accusations, vowing reciprocal reaction to any unjustified diplomatic measures by Canberra.
