Budget 2024 debate: Cheryl Chan on support for lifelong learning and cost of living issues
The new SkillsFuture Level-Up Programme will help to develop Singapore’s workforce and deliver products and services in new economic growth areas, said MP Cheryl Chan. Speaking in Parliament on Monday (Feb 26), she hopes that similar schemes will continue to support and enhance the key skills needed to drive Singapore’s growth forward. Turning to cost of living issues, she raised concerns over low-income workers and seniors or retirees who may not have sufficient means to support their retirement. It is important to prioritise Singaporeans who may need a bit more help and continue to support them as a national family, said Ms Chan.
