Budget 2024 debate: Liang Eng Hwa on providing for Singaporeans in the future
In Parliament on Monday (Feb 26), MP Liang Eng Hwa said this year’s Budget is forward moving and upward progressing. He said a good Budget is not defined by the way the money is spent, how much is spent and on which areas but also how expenditures are funded on a sustainable basis. He said the discipline of having a balanced Budget is of critical importance especially where the trajectory of spending is heading higher. He gave the assurance that the Government has the determination to move Singapore forward and said that there will be upward social mobility and importantly, upward progress for everyone.
