Budget 2025 debate: Muhamad Faisal Abdul Manap on cost-of-living pressures on Singaporeans

In parliament on Thursday (Feb 27), MP Muhamad Faisal Abdul Manap reiterated his call for the government to review the need for a statutory minimum wage to be introduced to ensure that the lowest earners in Singapore will be able to cope better with the cost of living. He also drew attention to the middle class or "sandwich class" in Singapore as well as to the issue of jobs, urging the government to consider offering incentive schemes that employ more Singaporeans than required by the dependency ratio.
