Budget 2026 debate: Hamid Razak on better delivery of integrated healthcare and social support

12:04 Min

As expectations rise with regard to access to care, social support and well-being, Singapore should not only spend more on help for its people, but also on ensuring the help is received in a simple and dignified way - especially for seniors, said MP Hamid Razak in parliament on Thursday (Feb 26). He said as the country moves towards a "we first" society, it must design systems not just for efficiency, but for human experience. He proposed placing more integrated case workers within Singapore’s community and primary healthcare systems to enable early intervention, and proactive and holistic care.
