Chee Hong Tat on criteria for Government social support schemes
The criteria for the Government's social support schemes in 2023 will not be affected by the latest revision of the Annual Value of most residential properties to determine who is eligible. The Government is working with the Silver Generation Office to engage and assure seniors of this, said Senior Minister of State for Finance Chee Hong Tat. Replying to an MP’s question in Parliament on Thursday (Mar 2), he said for many of the Government’s social support schemes, no application is required. Singaporeans receive the support automatically as long as they are eligible. Mr Chee said the Government regularly reviews its social support schemes, including the thresholds, to ensure that Singaporeans in need get the support they need.
