Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi has expressed hopes that the next US administration under President-elect Donald Trump will work with Beijing to promote what he calls "stable, healthy and sustainable" ties. Mr Trump recently blamed the COVID-19 pandemic for straining Washington's relations with Beijing. The incoming leader added that he sees Chinese President Xi Jinping as a "friend".
