Committee of Supply 2021 debate, Day 2: Rachel Ong on Work-Study Diploma for NSFs

It is important to support full-time national servicemen (NSFs) in helping them prepare to enter the workforce such as through the Work-Study Diploma (WSD) programme introduced by the Ministry of Defence last year, MP Rachel Ong said in Parliament on Monday (Mar 1). She asked for an update on the WSD programme and if there were plans for similar schemes to help NSFs looking at different career fields. She also asked if there were plans to recognise the competencies of NSFs in civilian work and their subsequent deployment in the Singapore Armed Forces.
