Committee of Supply 2022 debate, Day 1: Saktiandi Supaat on opportunities and challenges in Public Service digitalisation
The Government will be better able to anticipate citizens’ needs if it can seamlessly integrate services from different agencies on a single platform with a common pool of citizens’ data, said MP Saktiandi Supaat in Parliament on Wednesday (Mar 2). Digitalisation efforts so far also seem to be focused on English and too little on vernacular languages. Mr Saktiandi asked how the Public Service intends to leverage technology to better deliver services and improve productivity. He also flagged risks that need to be managed, such as scam tactics and service outages caused by back-end technical issues.
