Committee of Supply 2022 debate, Day 2: Edwin Tong on building a trusted and efficient legal system

The Ministry of Law will look into making the enforcement of civil judgments simpler and more streamlined to benefit small- and medium-sized enterprises and those who represent themselves in court. Second Minister for Law Edwin Tong said the Government is studying the options and will engage stakeholders. Speaking in Parliament on Thursday (Mar 3), he also said the education and training of law students, lawyers and allied legal professionals will come under review. Outlining the plans of his ministry, he said it will continue to forge ahead to ensure a trusted and efficient legal system and strengthen Singapore's attractiveness as a legal hub.
