Committee of Supply 2022 debate, Day 3: Yip Hon Weng on flexible workplace policies

01:25 Min

Many Singapore workers want flexible work arrangements to continue post-COVID, said MP Yip Hon Weng in Parliament on Friday (Mar 4). He said failure to do so would lead to an outflow of talent. Noting that cross-border virtual employment can complicate labour laws, Central Provident Fund obligations and taxation matters, he wanted to know what the Government is doing to ensure the laws keep up with these trends. Mr Yip also noted new trends in remote-working legislations around the world and wanted to know if the Government is exploring some of these new laws.
