Committee of Supply 2022 debate, Day 4: Maliki Osman on future-ready education
Singaporeans must have the confidence in themselves to maximise their full potential, maintain their competitive advantage and celebrate diversity. These are the key elements of its education system for such outcomes, outlined by Second Minister for Education Maliki Osman. Speaking in Parliament on Monday (Mar 7), he said achieving this vision requires rethinking the approach to education. Education is no longer something which ends in schools, but a continuous journey throughout life, he said. At a young age, the Ministry of Education will build strong foundations for all students and spark their curiosity and desire for learning. In higher education, it will continue to equip students with the skills and competencies to succeed as they transit to the workforce and make the most of the changes to face the challenges and opportunities of the future economy.
