Committee of Supply 2022 debate, Day 5: Chan Chun Sing on role of educational institutions in sustainability push
For sustainability to become a competitive advantage for Singapore, the country’s Institutes of Higher Learning will play significant, “needle-moving” roles, said Education Minister Chan Chun Sing. They can leverage their capabilities in research and innovation to develop sustainable products and solutions, as well as equip graduates and workers with the skills to seize opportunities in the green economy. Speaking in Parliament on Tuesday (Mar 8), Mr Chan also spoke about how schools lay the foundation by nurturing the young to be “stewards” of environmental sustainability.
